It lives !! Good job, it seems like a successful build.

    CNC for kitchen cabinets

Cnc machines are amazing and I would certainly advise you get one. But not for making a kitchen. You just need a track saw or something. A kitchen is basically just a load of rectangles which can be cut very quickly with a track saw or a panel saw to very high accuracy. To be honest, I would...

External "french door set" - off the peg recommendations?

Go to your local plastic window manufacturer and see what they measured wrong. Bargains galore if you can be a little flexible. Ollie

    So it happened.........what next

Don't worry, take any job for a while, try agencies just to keep some money coming in. Years ago I worked with agencies for a while and ended up doing many different jobs for a few weeks or months at a time, if I didn't like it I just got a different one the next week. Also you can do it part...

Any cheaper alternatives to the Kreg / DeWalt quickflip systems

Trend and Makita do them. The Makita one used to be the best as it is smaller in diameter than the Dewalt and had nicer countersinks. However, they seem to have changed the design, used to be a nice brass collar and would last well. The one I got last time had an aluminium collar and horrible...

    Pneumatic toilet flush button.

My Brother went to Japan and was really impressed with the crazy robot bidet toilets they have there, he considered getting one in his house when he came back. I personally think its asking for trouble and overcomplicated in the same way as our car seat annoys me with its slow electric motor to...

How to drill into a concrete lintel?

I have been using the Bosch multi material bits for this sort of thing. I find mostly you don`t even need hammer. I hardly get the SDS out now unless its for really big things.

    finish for CNC carving

The end grain bits where the carving has exposed it will absorb more finish and naturally darken more anyway. It is very dependant on the design. If you have enough depth then you could sand half a mm of the flat part after applying finish to take it off.

    CNC Machine

Looking good, I trust you have a dial indicator for getting it spot on. I certainly think this was a good way to go in a value for money sense. Be interested to see the performance and reliability of the all in one controller. Will you be building a tank on the bed for coolant for cutting...

    Rust Remover--'Jenolite'

Evaporust is supposed to be good stuff. I agree that the new Jenolite is no good.

    Chisel Buying Advice

MHG are good value, similar to Narex they have wooden handles with hoops so you can use a hammer. Had a set for years they are good steel and sharpen up nicely. I can't remember where I bought them but they don't seem to have a UK distributor. might have bought mine from Germany pre brexit...

    Anyone tempted ?

I can see little practical use for it, I have had no real problem with the normal pins or cross stops.

    Dry rods

Perhaps, but this was above the DPC by quite a bit.
