Before you go too far down the route of pulley removal/buying a new pulley have you considered that the belt may be worn and stretched allowing it to come off the pulley?
Depending on which machine is there a simple belt tightening mechanism that would take up the slack?
Funnily enough I bought a Samsung S6 lite a couple of times days ago to take on holidays instead of lugging my laptop around. Not for work or serious stuff, it's been superb fully recommended it's Android same as my Samsung phone and l let it copy most things over. Just the job

Sorry Brad but imo another vote for a 1960 to 1970 mass produced table made with plywood and with I suspect a brass plated handle hence the wearing out tarnished look. Look on ebay to see similar
A slightly different approach and as you're fitting a capping rail why not drill through the top rail into the vertical slats and tap some dowels through the top rail into the slats with a smear of pva and job done. When the capping is fitted you won't see the top edge of the dowels
I agree with Deema here and feel that whatever disclaimer the customer or repairer or the actual Repair Cafe or their insurers (presume they have one and wonder how it protects the repairer as opposed to the Cafe) have in place, the liability surely comes down to the person who "fixed it" and...
any tree surgeon will cut a slice for you at no or minimal charge - it will split all over the place but should be good enough for this short term task
