    Table saw safety

Track saw will handle all the bigger stuff. The table saw seems quite a step up. Just approaching it with an abundance of caution at the moment

    Table saw safety

Good point on the guides. I got the saw last week, but haven’t used it yet. Waiting until I have a good few hours so I can take my time. Think I’ll get the benchdogs mitre adaptor as I already have the rest of the fence. Should help with good habits in this area.

    Table saw safety

Thanks both. I read that thread. It’s very sobering and in a way prompted me to ask my questions. I guess there are lots of options, but it’s really down to the operator to make some choices. I think two push sticks are the way I’m going, but will possibly go for some guides as well to...

    Table saw safety

I’ve just added a table saw to my growing selection of woodworking tools that could eat my fingers and would like opinions on safety either good books, reputable videos and advice here to make sure I use the saw as safely as possible. I’ve purchased this particular table saw ( Festool CSC SYS...

Dashboard Hinge / Guid Rail Bracket

I had a little play today. There are things I can definitely improve on, but I’m happy the concept will work for a fast, accurate, mobile solution. I need to get better at using a router etc. but it definitely works. My setup is Toughbuilt c700 saw horses, 2x4 placed across them, MFT sat on top...

    Vintage low angle jack plane

i have a Veritas crosscut carcass saw after a recommendation on here, that I use for crosscuts of small pieces when I’m not dragging out a track saw etc. I really like it and want to a add a low angle jack plane, both in a shooting board to go with the simple bench hook I built for the saw, but...

Dashboard Hinge / Guid Rail Bracket

It is a lot of money for a hinge, but hopefully a buy once purchase. The design, build quality and finish justifies the price in my eyes, especially compared to the Festool thing. Pleased to have found the perfect track for it too.

Dashboard Hinge / Guid Rail Bracket

I recently ordered the Dashboard Hinge for delivery to the UK. I spent quite a bit of time deciding on the right track to hold the T-Bars (not t-bolts, though they can be ordered. In the US, they specify 15 series TSlot extrusion, but 40 would be fine in the UK. However, the 40 extrusion was a...

    Marples No2200 square restoration questions

At least everyone is in agreement that my square is trashed and should be replaced. I could frame it though as a momento to my most controversial post from what I thought was a reasonably mundane question 😀 Wishing you all a rain free weekend. And with that, I’ll get my coat.

That looks like a very nice saw. No noisy motor, no batteries or plugs :) I’ll wander over to the handbook section.

table saws and plunge saw (with guide rails tracks) advice/recommendations...

I have a Makita track saw that is great for 90% of things, particularly cutting sheets for cabinets etc, and I expect if I had a permanent setup could do 99%. But because I work outside and have to drag everything out when I want to use it, making some small cuts feels a pain. I was even...
