I’ve only used it once and, as mentioned, it looks good but is not durable at all.
I actually bought the wax to use for leather working (on the thread, makes needle threading easier).
Bit late as you’ve already ordered but I had the BS250 and found it good. Most of the time I was cutting 3/4”-2” and it was absolutely fine. On rare occasions, I did max out the capacity (ripping oak). Using a 3tpi (Tuff saws) blade and going slow, it did the job.
I did sell it a long time...
Found the thread where I got the leaflet. Only last year…thought I’d had it longer than that. The images are big enough to read easily.

Don’t mean to hijack/belittle your thread mate. Even though I don’t have a pro edge...
It’s a good guide, it was posted here a long time (that’s how I got it). It should really be provided with the pro edge, I’ve had 2 here (one was mine and other was nephews). Both came with a pretty basic instruction manual.
If it is on the Sorby site, it must be well hidden as I’ve never seen...
I was kindly given some lovely London plane pen blanks from Phil a while ago. Finally got round to using them this week. I just used melamine gloss lacquer, buffed and then carnauba wax.
The pink one is a resin and wood blank I bought from Axminster in 2021. The tubes are Beaufort ink...
Sorry to hear about the redundancy and your workbench plans being scuppered. Timber, hardware looks top notch. I got a couple of the grammercy holdfasts a long time ago (dieter Schmid was the only place I could get them from. Nowhere in the UK sold them). Very nice bits of kit.
Blister…I knew someone would mention the sxe 450. I’ve seen that sander recommended here on a regular basis since I joined in 2006. And for good reason, I got one not long after joining here and it was a great sander. It got utterly thrashed and just kept going.
I had it that long that it went...
I used to have a Deros and it was excellent, until it developed a fault. It had a hard life though. The metabo looks identical but can it take 150mm and 125mm pads? I think that’s what makes the Deros unique.
I’ve got a ets150/5. It’s hideously expensive but it is easily the best sander I’ve...
I’ve got one, never had any issues with it. I can’t comment on its power as I’ve only used 6tpi blades on it and the thickest pieces I’ve cut on it have been 50mm (oak) which it did easily. I usually use the big bandsaw at work for cutting bigger pieces.
I’d imagine the sabre would be ok for...
