Plus the landfill element , probably some of the electronics recycled for metals AND i had a neighbour whos job was repairing domestic vacuum cleaners , he was retired in the late 90's, and also unable to repair - but he would repair and they would last years and years avoiding landfill

i find the multi-tool very useful as cordless - just a retired DIYer And probably the same for the sander BUT just depends on if happy to plug into an extension lead if you are already on the Makita battery platform , then maybe worth a look at that range difficult to say , in my experience...

in fact I did use a 5mm bosch drill bit (with yellow rawl plugs) with my cordless combi drill to drill into a lintel - metal as did have metal filings on - so if necessary I could have gone to use the RED rawl plugs if the bit moved about at all and 5.5mm / 6mm drill so you may want to try those...
